Everybody’s a storyteller.
Telling stories is a fundamental part of the human experience, and yet for too many of us it’s not a part of our daily lives. That’s a shame because stories are powerful, thought-provoking, and — most importantly — a lot of fun!
The world needs more stories — your stories, from your imagination. That’s why we’ve created Storium, the online storytelling game.
With Storium, you and your friends play in a fictional world of your own creation and, along the way, tell a story together. It captures the joy of sitting around the campfire, where anyone can feel comfortable as a storyteller, anyone can be creative, and everyone’s there for the same reason: to have fun.
You don’t have to be a skilled writer to play Storium. The game gives you the kind of creative “leg up” that’s missing when you stare at a blank sheet of paper. You play at your own pace using simple rules that you can learn as you go.
Collaborate with your friends to invent tales of brave adventurers, life-saving doctors, or intrepid interstellar explorers. Choose from a selection of ready-to-play fictional worlds or create your own. You don’t need a story in mind. It unfolds as you play.
The team here at Protagonist Labs has been working on Storium for months. We suspect it’s like nothing else you’ve played, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
We’ve begun testing Storium with a small group of alpha users, and over the coming months we will be gradually expanding the trial. We will also be using this blog to share sneak peeks of the game as well as our perspective on storytelling, gaming, and creativity.
